    Our Recruitment Process

    To ensure we find the best fit for our chil­dren and team, we fol­low a three-stage inter­view process:

    1. Infor­mal Meet­ing – an oppor­tu­ni­ty to learn more about you and share who we are

    2. Safe Care Inter­view – focus­ing on safe­guard­ing and suit­abil­i­ty for the role

    3. For­mal Inter­view – assess­ing your skills, val­ues, and moti­va­tion to work with chil­dren

    We’re look­ing for peo­ple who are con­sis­tent, com­pas­sion­ate, and emo­tion­al­ly avail­able—indi­vid­u­als who are ready to be ther­a­peu­tic attach­ment fig­ures in the lives of vul­ner­a­ble chil­dren.


    Training & Development

    All staff receive a com­pre­hen­sive induc­tion and ongo­ing train­ing through­out their time with us. Dur­ing the six-month pro­ba­tion peri­od, new staff receive a blend of for­mal train­ing and hands-on men­tor­ing to ensure they are ful­ly sup­port­ed.

    🔧 Core Training Includes:

    • Safe­guard­ing and Child Pro­tec­tion

    • Med­ica­tion Admin­is­tra­tion

    • Fire Safe­ty and Food Hygiene

    • Nor­folk Steps (Behav­iour Man­age­ment & Phys­i­cal Inter­ven­tion)

    • First Aid Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion (if not already held)

    • Com­ple­tion of the Staff Induc­tion Fold­er

    Staff are then sup­port­ed to enrol on the Lev­el 3 Diplo­ma in Res­i­den­tial Child­care, a nation­al­ly recog­nised qual­i­fi­ca­tion tai­lored to their role.


    Therapeutic Practice & DDP Training

    We work with­in a Dyadic Devel­op­men­tal Psy­chother­a­py (DDP) framework—an attach­ment-based, trau­ma-informed mod­el. To sup­port this:

    • All staff com­plete a 15-hour intro­duc­to­ry course, Nav­i­gate, fol­lowed by

    • A 4‑day DDP Lev­el 1 course (sub­ject to train­er avail­abil­i­ty)

    • After 12+ months, staff go on to com­plete DDP Lev­el 2, fur­ther embed­ding attach­ment-based prac­tice

    Our ther­a­peu­tic cul­ture is sup­port­ed by:

    • Month­ly psy­chi­a­try con­sul­ta­tions using DDP prin­ci­ples

    • Month­ly indi­vid­ual super­vi­sions based on DDP

    • Dai­ly key­work record­ings writ­ten through a DDP lens

    This ensures con­sis­ten­cy and emo­tion­al attune­ment across all lev­els of care.
